The truth is coming to light but will it be in time to save two angels?

Nybbas shook his head. "I think the Balance is totally neutral, besides, have a think about Samael and Nathaniel. One creates, the other destroys. They are a balance themselves. Lucifer is the neutral balance between them. Almost as if they were created so he could learn how to be neutral.”

Sandalphon nodded at Nybbas' words. They made perfect sense when the Legends were viewed that way. "I still wonder why the Balance didn't give Arioch the same advantages as it afforded Lucifer.”

Nybbas pulled him into a toe-curling kiss before saying, "I think the Balance wanted the Multiverse teeming with life. All Arioch ever wanted was destruction. If I'm right the Balance created the Multiverse to sustain life and neither side of it wanted to see its creation destroyed. It was one to start with and split in two to create the big bang.”

Sandalphon's eyes widened. "So that suggests they intended Lucifer to be their vessel all along.”

Nybbas nodded and smiled. "I believe so, my love. If you had created something as phenomenal as the Multiverse, would you want a twisted being like Arioch taking control of it, becoming the Supreme Being?”

Sandalphon shuddered at the thought. "Do you think this demon wants the same things Arioch did?”

Nybbas shook his head and sighed. "To be honest, my love, I have no idea. We'll let Lucifer sort it out, I think.”

Sandalphon realised that was probably the best solution and kissed his lover. The kiss led to both of them shucking their clothing and climbing under the bed covers. "To think I had no idea of the physical expression of love until I met you.”

Nybbas chuckled as he ran his hands over Sandalphon's satin smooth skin. "Luckily for us all you understood the emotional aspects and engendered it in others, even some of the demons.”

Sandalphon pressed against his personal demon. "Is that why you defied Arioch?”

Nybbas continued his stroking. "When it comes down to it, yes, that's exactly why. Oh, I rationalised it by arguing that I'd taught too many sentient beings the use of the arcane, but I must have felt some affection for those beings to argue for their continued survival.”

Sandalphon gasped under Nybbas' caresses. "Nice to know I reached some of you with the need for compassion. But enough talk. I want you, Nybbas.”
